SAINt JHN was born Carlos St. John Phillips on August 26, 1986, in Brooklyn, New York. He grew up splitting his time between New York and Georgetown, Guyana, where his family is from. He started making music when he was 12 years old, inspired by his older brother who rapped in the neighborhood. He wrote his first song in his first year of high school while living in Guyana.
